A Family Firm
Gavrel Financial Services, LLC is a family firm that has been in business since 2000. We are a small, 5 member, family operation. We specialize in tax preparation and bookkeeping services. We also offer financial consulting, and trust management. We are proud to offer businesses outsourced CFO services and look forward to helping your business develop into prosperity. We are grateful for our continued success and we are excited to celebrate the start of our 25th year December 1, 2024.

At Gavrel Financial we believe in a strong community presence. We are proud to represent the greater Houston area and are dedicated to donating our time and services, where we can, to support our city. In respect of their service, we offer a military and first responders discount to all servicemen and women. We are also involved in the surrounding school district. Pete and Cheryl were named the Katy ISD Volunteers of the year in 2011 for their dedication to the community, and we offer a discount for all employees in the surrounding school districts.
The Family
Owners: Pete and Cheryl Gavrel
Pete and Cheryl have been married for over 37 years, and have been working together for 23 of our 24 years in business. They pride themselves on their ability to work alongside one another, and their leadership provides Gavrel Financial a solid foundation for growth and success.
Pete Gavrel
Pete received his B.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Houston, where he also minored in Marketing. He spends his hours at work interacting with local business owners and community members. He loves spending time in the conference room helping solve our clients financial problems. When he is not meeting with clients, Pete reviews monthly and quarterly financial statements with local and national business owners and helps them develop budgets and a strategic financial plan. Pete loves spending time on the golf course and spending time out of the office hunting and fishing with the family.
Cheryl Gavrel
Cheryl is the company's day-to-day operations manager. Cheryl attended Southwest Texas State University. While she spends a majority of her time dealing with monthly clients, her responsibilities also include tax preparation, bookkeeping, payroll tax return preparation, and year end W-2s and 1099s. She also controls the operations of the office including information allocation and task assignments. Cheryl enjoys reading and playing golf in her off time.

Director of Tax: Johnny Gavrel, M.B.A., E.A.
Johnny has been working with Gavrel Financial full time since 2015. He received his B.B.A and his M.B.A. in Accounting from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's McLane College of Business in 2014. Johnny prepares personal, corporate, and not-for-profit tax returns and meets with new and existing tax clients. In addition, he reviews financial statements for business owners and does tax research for the firm and its clients. In 2017, Johnny married his lovely wife Melanie, who is a financial analyst for Hewlett-Packard, Inc. Johnny & Melanie welcomed their first daughter, Ella Brooklynn, to the family in May of 2022, and their first son Johnny Jr. in November 2024!
Marketing Director: Tommy Gavrel, M.B.A., Realtor®
Tommy joined Gavrel Financial in May of 2017. He received his B.B.A. in Marketing and his M.B.A. in International Business, from The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor's McLane College of Business. Tommy handles the day to day marketing operations of the business, and has control of our website. He is fluid in media, and marketing software tools. Along with his marketing activities, Tommy is skilled in using both, bookkeeping, and tax preparation software systems, and handles a share of bookkeeping and tax prep responsibilities.
Tommy is also a Licensed Real Estate Agent in the State of Texas and handles the operations of the Gavrel Professional Realty Team powered by Keller Williams Premier Realty.
In September of 2023 Tommy married his beautiful wife, and best friend, Cassie, and they are expecting their first daughter, Hali Rose, in May of 2025! They have 3 dogs and love spending time on adventures hiking, hunting, fishing, and playing golf.
Sarah Cobb: Office Manager
Sarah joined Gavrel Financial Services in February of 2022 with a background in real estate, marketing, and office management. Sarah attended Sam Houston State University. She spends her time in the office answering client phone calls, performing bookkeeping and tax preparatory duties, and assisting in maintaining the office functionality. Sarah also works as Tommy’s real estate transaction coordinator and social media manager. In March of 2021, Sarah married her husband, Justin, and together they share two German Shorthair Pointers. Sarah and Justin are avid travelers and love to sample the different types of cuisines that are common in other cultures.
